Interview by Anna Kisielewska and Kinia Adamczyk
As we reflect on the 20 years since the fall of communism in Europe and ponder what the future may hold, CR recently had a chance to ask a few questions of Professor Marek Suszko who teaches at the Department of History at Loyola University in Chicago. What follows is a transcript of the exchange with Professor Suszko.
CR: As we are observing the 20th anniversary of the fall of communism in Central Europe, what do you consider the most positive developments in Poland since 1989?

KRAKOW -- There is little in life that is more pleasant than spending a chilly November evening in a pub nestled in the heart of Kraków’s Stare Miasto. Recently, I found myself in such a pub, seated across from one of the most remarkable people I’ve met - Dr. Bill Johnston. Over coffee, beer, and the ever-present cigarettes we spoke about his current work in Poland.
